RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to support the Park design for the public park in the
Dunmore Development.
ISSUE
Staff has been working with LHB Consultants to develop a park plan for the small mini – park that will
soon be developed in the Dunmore neighborhood. The Parks and Recreation Commission has provided
input about the draft plans and recommended a final concept plan be brought back for review. The park is
approximately .59 acres in size and located next to a future regional trail to the east and Cadogan Way to
the west.
The designs included a park focused on passive neighborhood recreation. It is expected that most of the
people visiting the park will be either from the neighborhood or the regional trail. The key items to the
design include internal trails, a playground, landscaping and a sun shelter. There is an open space that
could be left undeveloped or used as a future community garden area. Staff is recommending that the area
be left undeveloped at this time or until the local community garden plots are all being used by Rosemount
residents, which is currently not happening.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff is recommending the Parks and Recreation Commission support the park design for the mini - park
in the Dunmore Development as presented. Should the Commission support the concept plan, staff will
then start sharing the plan with the Dunmore neighborhood residents.
