ATTACHMENTS: Strategic Plan Infographic APPROVED BY: LJM RECOMMENDED ACTION: Informational item only BACKGROUND A component of the implementation plan for our 2022 Goals is to do a quarterly check-in on progress made. Below please find a table of information that conveys some of the traction that is underway on the strategic actions that support the goals. Note that not all goals are covered below, simply the items with relevant updates. Connecting and Engaging the Community Strategic Action Update Next Steps Complete re-design and enhancements to website Web design complete, Polco re- engaged, CitiBot ready for rollout Website live by July 15 (with CitiBot), Polco use continues monthly Pursue opportunities for broadband Re-engaged conversation with private vendor, monitor Federal funding Monitor next actions with DBB transition and react accordingly Re-engage Council Out and About RhythmFest, CC Bike Ride, Lep Days, Food Truck Fest Continue outings at fall events / sports Develop public relations SOP for news and events CM Weisensel provided research and examples Staff reviewing other plans for ideas, draft presented in late summer Growing Rosemount Strategic Action Update Next Steps Commercial Site Sold at Akron Purchase Agreement in place, closing expected in August Close on land, pursue City approvals, accept bids on Rec. Center Amber Fields commenced Significant site grading and utility installation underway, 4th phase already approved Support vertical housing construction and discuss retail / office opportunities with developer 2 Review and refine Business Subsidy policy Staff completed research and drafted an update, feedback received from the Port Authority. Approval?? Approve second spec building in Business Parks Application expected in the near term from a user for a large project Process application and complete project Enhancing Quality of Life Strategic Action Update Next Steps Construct Dog Park and Pickleball Courts Dog park areas identified and supported by PRC, pickleball courts planned at Life Time and Amber Fields Finalize site planning and construct projects as developments occur Provide state of the art Rec Center via a Public Private Partnership Life Time project announced and approval rec’d from LT Board Finalizing numerous agreements to solidify partnership, with vertical construction in late ’22 or early ’23 Develop expanded events Rhythm Fest held and will return in ‘22, over 25 summer events held at the Bandshell. Discuss and research additional events, complete an inventory. Staff would like to discuss the Council’s vision for programming and the pursuit of larger crowds Complete master plan for Central Park Landscape architect engaged and staff subcommittee formed to begin work Engage a broader stakeholder group to review a few plan options Summer Farmer’s Market open Market confirmed for Tuesdays (starting 6/14) Staff is continuing to explore other avenues to add a weekend market Construct Flint Hills trailhead building Bids rec’d and construction underway Facility open and utilized by October 2022 Developing a High Performing Organization Strategic Action Update Next Steps Complete design, secure land, hire builder for PW / PD facility Construction Mgr & Architect engaged, staff tours completed, project team meeting weekly to move initial phases of work Finalize State of MN actions to secure land. Receive direction from CC on scope and budget comfort for project 3 Identify add’l process to be electronic Paperless Purchase Orders are live in all departments. All employees transferred to digital time sheets, digital on-boarding process created, new hire tasks automated, and more Continued efforts to increase staff awareness of the opportunities available within software to digitize processes RECOMMENDATIONS No action requested, informational update only. With so much growth and opportunity currently happening in Rosemount, it’s crucial that we continue to improve upon what we currently have while focusing on smart development. The four vision areas shown here convey what the City can become over the next five years and what our guiding principles will be during that time.
