DISCUSSION
The Environment and Sustainability Commission (ESC) developed an Education & Outreach Calendar for
2022. It is a working document that will be updated as the year progresses. Some outreach items will be
assigned to specific commissioners for completion, such as some of the blog posts. The intent of this item
is to review the calendar for updates and share ideas. Highlights are below:
1. May – Recap of No Mow May
2. June blog post ideas:
a. American Flag disposal procedures
i. Flag Day (June 14), and Independence Day
b. Pollinator topic to capitalize on National Pollinator Week
https://www.pollinator.org/pollinator-week2022 theme is Wings of Life – butterflies and
moths and the essential role they play
c. Low waste options for picnics
i. Independence Day and summer get togethers
