RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Approve a Temporary On-Sale Liquor License
Issued to OMNI Brewing Company LLC to Hold an event on August 25th to August 28th at
15701 Biscayne Ave
BACKGROUND
OMNI Brewing Company LLC submitted a request for a Temporary On-Sale Liquor License at 15701
Biscayne Ave. The purpose of the request is to host a “Progress Party” from August 25-28 to share the
progress of the new location in Rosemount to the community. The hours of the event will be Thursday
and Friday from approximately 4 p.m.-9 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m.-9 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m.-5
p.m.
Rosemount City Code, 3-1-12, “The city council may issue to a brewer who meets the qualifications in
Minnesota statutes 340A.404, subdivision 10, paragraph (c), a temporary license for the on-sale of
intoxicating liquor in connection with a social event within the municipality sponsored by the brewer.”
The brewer must manufacture fewer than 3,500 barrels of malt liquor in a year in order to qualify for this
temporary on-sale license. The event has to be within the municipality, not that the brewer itself must be
located here. If approved by the City Council, the state will also need to approve the temporary license
request.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of a Temporary Liquor License to OMNI Brewing Company LLC for an
event on August 25th to August 28th, 2022.
