ISSUE
Staff from the Rosemount Parks and Recreation Department have been working with several other
Dakota County communities and staff from Dakota County on a 2022 Greenway Acceleration program.
The Dakota County Board has made it a priority to get a handful of greenway projects designed and
prepped for construction in the near future. The Vermilion Highlands Greenway is one of the greenway
sections that is being reviewed and would have a direct impact on our residents.
The attached plans show where the greenway trail will follow Connemara Trail to the east and cross Akron
Ave. The greenway trail design has a few different design options to get through the future Lifetime site
and through an underpass tunnel at County Road 42. After crossing under County Road 42, the trail will
make its way through the DCTC campus and then south to the UMore Ballfields.
