Park Improvement Fund Balance as of June 30, 2022: $4,114,966.98 Inflows to the Park Improvement Fund last month were as follows: Dedication fees – $390,000 Grants/Other - $0 Interest - $5,322.53 Donations - $0 Expenditures – $110,754.68 (Skate Park Site Improvements, Greenway Trail, Bonaire Feasibility Study and PW/Central Park Master Plan) SUMMER PROGRAMS - Summer youth programming is underway, and the Parks & Recreation Department is receiving positive notes and feedback about the staff working with the kids. This note below is a reminder that the small things we do to make our littlest participants comfortable and engaged goes a long way. Way to go Summer Recreation Leaders! “I just wanted to take a second and say thank you. My daughter is in the Tuesday and Thursday preschool soccer at Alliance Field, “the Red Apples.” Her coaches have been fantastic!! She has been really enjoying it and the coaches do great when she is apprehensive about participating.” NEW SOLID WASTE AND RECYCLING COORINATOR - Our new shared Solid Waste & Recycling Coordinator position has been filled by Violet Penman. Violet will be working for Rosemount, Farmington and Hastings to help navigate the world of recycling and sustainability. She most recently worked with the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community as a Sustainability Coordinator. Violet received her bachelor’s degree in Conservation & Environmental Planning from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls.
