RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to recommend the City Council accept the quote and
award the contract to the lowest bidder, Midwest Fence, for the Flint Hills Athletic Complex
Fence Project.
BACKGROUND
The City recently sent out a request for quotes to a group local fence companies for the purchase and
installation of fencing at various locations at the Flint Hills Athletic Complex. Of the five contractors that
we reached out to only one complete quote was submitted (see spreadsheet below). The complete quote
was submitted by Midwest Fence in the amount of $118,640.00. This project was anticipated for 2022 and
funding will come from the Park Dedication Fund.

A to Z Fencing $119,535.00 - did not include the concrete maintenance strip
Peterson Companies Responded that they were not able to take on the work.

RECOMMENDATION
Staff is recommending the City Council accept the quote and award the contract to the lowest bidder
Midwest Fence, for the Flint Hills Athletic Complex Fence Project.
