RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to authorize Councilmember Jeff Weisensel as the
City of Rosemount’s official voting delegate to the National League of Cities
BACKGROUND
The City has been an active member of the National League of Cities for many years, providing a myriad of
training opportunities to elected and appointed officials while also ensuring that the needs of cities are
accounted for at the Federal level. As a member below 50,000 in population, the City receives one vote at
the annual NLC business meeting. A number of actions occur at the annual business meeting, including the
election of a new president, the adoption of the National Municipal Policy, and more.
Councilmember Weisensel will be attending the business meeting during the upcoming City Summit in
November. As such, it is prudent to appoint him as the City’s voting delegate at this time.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff is recommending the City Council authorize Councilmember Jeff Weisensel as the City of Rosemount’s
official voting delegate to the National League of Cities.
