DISCUSSION
The Environment and Sustainability Commission (ESC) developed an Education & Outreach Calendar for
2022. It is a working document that will be updated as the year progresses. Some outreach items will be
assigned to specific commissioners for completion, such as some of the blog posts. The intent of this item
is to review the calendar for updates and share ideas. Highlights are below:
1. November 4 blog post – Energy Audits
2. December blog post ideas:
a. Deicer reduction/smart salting/clearing snow - Tina
3. Holidays/events of note
a. October through December – PiE 50 free Home Energy Squad Energy Saver visits give
away to residents that are Xcel customers at events
b. November 17 – Night on the Town
c. November 24 – Thanksgiving
d. November 26 – Steeple Center Tree lighting
e. December 18 – first day Hanukkah
f. December 26 – Christmas (federal holiday)
g. January 2 – New Year’s Day (federal holiday)
h. January 16 – MLK Day
4. Steeple Cent Tree lighting planning
