RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Declare the Listed Items as Surplus Property and
Authorize Staff to Sell or Dispose of them
BACKGROUND
The Fire Department is requesting that the City Council declare equipment as surplus property. This
declaration will authorize staff to appropriately dispose of these items.
Staff is requesting to dispose of the following items:
• 45 Motorola Minitor V fire pagers/chargers
• 9 Motorola Minitor V spare chargers
• 5 Motorola Minitor IV fire pagers/chargers
• 2 Motorola Minitor IV spare chargers
• 2 Twelve-volt Hannay electric hydraulic hose reels
• Air Chisel, regulator, 2250 psi bottle, case, assortment of chisels, 3/8” hose
• Porta Power with white storage box
• 1 Water ground monitor / 2-2 ½” intakes
• 1 Akron Piston intake with 6” thread by 4” Storz adaptor
• 2 – 4” Storz couplings
• Portable hydrant/ 5 outlets with pressure gauges and 1 inlet pressure gauge
• 2-TFT Intake valves 6” x 5” Storz adaptor
• 2 Piston intakes with 5” Storz adaptor
• 1 Double handle 2 ½” hose nozzle
• 3-2250 psi air bottles
• 9-rechargeable flashlights
• 1 – Hudson aluminum backpack sprayer
• 50’ section of 4” supply hose (bad)
• 2 – 50’ sections of expired 1 ½” hose
• 2 – 50’ sections of expired 1 ¾” hose
• 36 – 50’ sections of expired 2 ½” hose
Once the items have been declared surplus property, staff will sell them utilizing on line resources or to
another interested party. This process of selling surplus equipment is the same process that has been used
previously to dispose of surplus equipment. The listed equipment is no longer being utilized by the fire

department for various reasons to included expired, bad, non-functioning, outdated, no longer fits current
equipment, and replaced equipment.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends Council authorization to declare these items as surplus property and authorize staff to
sell or dispose of them.
