CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Rosemount Youth Commission was held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 3:47 p.m. at the Steeple Center, 14375 South Robert Trail, Room 200. Chair Kenninger called the meeting to order with Youth Commissioners Alex, Bartz, Buck, Jacobson, Maskel, Meyers, Mohanty, Pemberton, Reed, Rhoades, Thiagarajan, and Thomas present. Assistant City Administrator Emmy Foster, Council Member Jeff Weisensel, City Administrator Logan Martin, Human Resources Coordinator Jackie Kaderlik, GIS Coordinator Aaron Menza, Office Specialist/Deputy City Clerk Jessie Paque, Communications Coordinator Lee Stoffel, and Recording Secretary Sandi Amundson were also present. Commissioners Burman, Kuseske, Lovin, and State were absent. 2. ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO AGENDA Motion by Kenninger. Second by Bartz. Motion to Adopt the Agenda. Ayes: 13 Nays: 0 Absent: 4. Motion carried. 3. AUDIENCE INPUT None 4. CONSENT AGENDA Motion by Kenninger. Second by Buck. Motion to approve the Consent Agenda. Ayes: 13 Nays: 0 Absent: 4. Motion carried. 5. OLD BUSINESS None 6. NEW BUSINESS a. Introduction of City of Rosemount Panel Representatives: Jackie Kaderlik, Human Resources Coordinator; Logan Martin, City Administrator; Aaron Menza, GIS Coordinator; Jessie Paque, Office Specialist/Deputy City Clerk; and Lee Stoffel, Communications Coordinator. The panel of representatives answered a series of questions which allowed the Youth Commissioners to get to know them better. The panelists introduced themselves, explained their roles at the City, discussed their departments and the many functions within their roles. The panel members shared their background, education, work experiences, career paths and words of advice with the group. b. Leadership Lesson – Topic of the Month: “My Definition of Leadership II”. Weisensel asked that the Youth Commissioners to share and discuss this week’s leadership lesson. In addition, he asked the group to “reflect back” on the year and let him know which lessons they would like to see brought back for next year’s Youth Commissioners. Two topics were recommended by the group to be discussed with future Youth Commissioners included the Shapes of Leadership and Power and Ethics lessons. c. Roundtable Discussion Youth Commission members shared their college plans, upcoming prom, and end of the year focus. 7. REPORTS a. Commission Member Reports None b. Next Meeting Date – May 25, 2022 at 3:45 p.m. at the Community Center (Banquet Room), 13885 South Robert Trail, in Rosemount (approximately 3:45 p.m.) following the Tree Planting. c. Tree Planting at 3 p.m. at the Family Resource Center Park (14521 Cimarron Ave West). ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to discuss, it was moved by Kenninger and seconded by Maskel that the meeting be adjourned.
