CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Rosemount Youth Commission was held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 3:49 p.m. at the Steeple Center - Patio, 14375 South Robert Trail. Vice Chair Bartz called the meeting to order with Youth Commissioners Essler, Favre, Fulsaas, Jacobson, Knutson, C. Lovin, H. Lovin, Mohanty, Narloch, Pitzen, and State were present. Assistant City Administrator Emmy Foster and Recording Secretary Jessie Paque were also present. Commissioners Alex, Burman, Buck, Harvey, Reed, Rhoades, and Thomas were absent. 2. ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO AGENDA Motion by Bartz. Second by Mohanty. Motion to Adopt the Agenda. Ayes: 12. Nays: 0 Absent: 7. Motion carried. 3. AUDIENCE INPUT None 4. CONSENT AGENDA Motion by Bartz. Second by Jacobson. Motion to approve the Consent Agenda. Ayes: 12. Nays: 0 Absent: 7. Motion carried. 5. OLD BUSINESS None 6. NEW BUSINESS a. Discussion of Interests, Topics, Tours, & Speakers Assistant City Administrator Foster discussed with the commissioners the potential tours & speakers that could be schedule for future meetings. Commissioners completed a survey to gauge their interests. b. Splash Pad Summer Celebration – Thursday, July 21 at 11 a.m.- Noon Foster reminded group of the upcoming event and explained that this is a Youth Commission sponsored event so their participation is very important. She reminded them to wear their new Youth Commission tie-dye shirts that they will be creating following the meeting. A reminder email regarding the event will be sent to Youth Commissioners. c. Leprechaun Days – Booth: Friday July 29 & Saturday, July 30 & Parade: July 30 Foster explained the Commissioner’s participation with the City Council in their Leprechaun Days booth and the parade. Further information and booth sign-up times will be sent out via email. d. Night to Unite – Tuesday, August 2 Foster and Recording Secretary Paque encouraged commissioners to sign up to attend Night to Unite. Officer Cassie Witt will be the main contact for this event, so commissions should watch their email for more information on this and respond accordingly. e. Roundtable Discussion Youth Commission members shared their work, summer, and upcoming vacation plans and activities. 7. REPORTS a. Commission Member Reports None b. Next Meeting Date – August 24, 2022 at 3:45 p.m. at the Steeple Center, Room 202, 14375 South Robert Trail (may be moved to Fire Station 2 if a tour can be arranged). ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to discuss, it was moved by Mohanty and seconded by Jacobson that the meeting be adjourned. The motion carried unanimously, and the meeting was adjourned at 4:06 p.m. Following the meeting, the Youth Commissioners completed a t-shirt tie-dying activity.
