RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve a motion certifying Councilmember committee and
board assignments in 2023
BACKGROUND
As we begin 2023, it is prudent to establish the various roles each Councilmember will assume on various
Boards and organizations that the City partners with. Below please find a proposed separation of
assignments, based on staff’s understanding of each Councilmember’s selection. Please note, these
assignments may be reviewed once two new councilmembers are appointed.
Mayor Weisensel
• Dakota 911 Center
• Youth Commission, ex officio
• Fire Relief Association, ex-officio
• Utility Commission, ex-officio
• Metropolitan Council – Transportation Advisory Board
Councilmember Essler
• RAAA Liason
• Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (possibly alternate to a future member)
• Dakota 911 Center, alternate
• Dakota Broadband Board, alternate
Councilmember Freske
• Dakota Broadband Board
• Technology Taskforce, ex officio
• Leprechaun Days/Haunted Trail Liaison
• RAHA Liason
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Council adopt a motion certifying Councilmember committee and board
assignments in 2023.
