RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive update from design team and discuss next steps.
BACKGROUND
The construction document development of the Public Works & Police Campus project is nearing
completion, and the project team is prepared to give an update to the City Council on the design and
general features of the building, along with financial impacts A significant amount of focus of this phase
of the project has been the cost of the project. Based on Council direction received in previous work
sessions, the project budget is approximately $59 million. Construction market conditions appear to be
improving, so the project team is hopeful of a positive bid result within budget parameters
The City Council will be asked to authorize the pursuit of bids for the project at its February 7 regular
meeting. Two bid packages are anticipated over the next few months. Once all bids have been received,
Kraus Anderson will confirm the bids and vet the bidders. The cumulative bid package will be presented
to the City Council for authorization, which will be a critical step in the project’s progression.
RECOMMENDATION
No action needed. Receive the update from staff and consultants and discuss next steps.
