RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve the acceptance and expenditure of $4000
dollars from an anonymous citizen of Rosemount to be used for general needs and
initiatives of the police department
BACKGROUND
The police department received a donation from a citizen who wished to be anonymous for $4000. The
donation was to be used for the general needs of the police department as determined by the Chief of
Police.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends Council approving the donation and expenditure of the $4000 to be used for general
needs and initiatives.

RESOLUTION 2023 - XX
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A DONATION TO THE CITY
WHEREAS, the City of Rosemount is generally authorized to accept donations of real and
personal property pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 465.03 for the benefit of its citizens and is
specifically authorized to accept gifts.
WHEREAS, the following persons and entities have offered to contribute the cash set forth below
to the city:

Anonymous $4000
WHEREAS, all such donations have been contributed to the city for the benefit of its citizens, as
allowed by law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is appropriate to accept the donations offered.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROSEMOUNT, MINNESOTA AS FOLLOWS:
1. The donations described above are accepted and shall be used to establish and/or operate
services either alone or in cooperation with others, as allowed by law.
2. The city clerk is hereby directed to issue receipts to each donor acknowledging the city’s
receipt of the donor’s donation.
ADOPTED this 7th day of February 2023, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount.
