BACKGROUND
Staff has had preliminary discussions regarding redevelopment of the site currently occupied by South
Metro Auto and the adjacent multifamily parcel to the North. Both sites are non-conforming uses located
along Highway 3 across from the Rosemount Community Center. These sites have long been targeted as
high priority parcels for redevelopment. The current uses are not the most efficient use of the site and do
not serve as a welcoming gateway into Downtown Rosemount.
Ebert Companies has proposed a multifamily development for both parcels. Given the uniqueness of the
site and redevelopment opportunity, representatives from Ebert would like to propose the initial
conceptual development prior to submitting formal application to the City. They have prepared a
presentation that will address project proposal and site specifics. As this is a redevelopment project, the
developer would likely need financial assistance to proceed. The City’s financial consultant is present to
provide information on assistance and financing as it relates to this type of redevelopment.
