DISCUSSION In 2022, the Technology Task Force asked city staff to investigate options for increasing citizen access to electric vehicle charging stations and discussed the possibility of the City purchasing stations to be placed at public parks and buildings. Since then, staff has received quotes to purchase varying styles of charging stations from three companies – FLO(Rexel), ChargePoint, and ZEF Energy. Staff has determined that the most appropriate option is through ZEF Energy. SUMMARY City staff will review the quote from ZEF Energy and is asking the Environmental and Sustainability Commission to make a recommendation to City Council to pursue the purchase and installation of electric vehicle charging stations at public facilities.
