RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Approve the Fire Department Leadership Position
Appointments for 2023
SUMMARY
Over the past couple of months, the Fire Department has gone through changes to the command
structure. Two big changes that occurred were the addition of Battalion Chief roles. These positions were
added to prepare for the future growth of department response as well as growth in the city. The Fire
Department also worked through a vacancy in the Assistant Chief position as a result of a retirement
which created additional leadership movement within the Fire Department. During this time period, we
have interviewed and promoted several individuals to fill these vacancies. Each of these newly appointed
firefighters have been chosen to fill positions because of their drive and dedication to the department. As
we move forward, we will evaluate the effectiveness of these positions as we plan for the future to ensure
that we are aligning the fire department to best serve the citizens of Rosemount. The newly appointed
firefighters and their corresponding positions are listed below:
• Captain Chris Dyson promoted to Battalion Chief at Fire Station #1
• Captain Chad Ganfield promoted to Battalion Chief at Fire Station #2
• Lieutenant Jordan Hirman promoted to Captain at Fire Station #1
• Lieutenant Kelly Ritchie promoted to Captain at Fire Station #1
• Lieutenant Joe Sanderson promoted to Captain at Fire Station #2
• Firefighter Krissy Horner promoted to Lieutenant at Fire Station #1
• Firefighter Joseph McDonough promoted to Lieutenant at Fire Station #1
• Firefighter Nate Florine promoted to Lieutenant at Fire Station #2
Existing Officer Positions remaining in place:
• Captain Brad Miller assigned to Fire Station #2
• Lieutenant Jeff Feeder assigned to Fire Station #1
• Lieutenant Jim Olinger assigned to Fire Station #2
