ATTACHMENTS: Central Park Masterplans APPROVED BY: DLS RECOMMENDED ACTION: Discussion Only BACKGROUND As the City moves forward with the development of a new Public Works Department and Police Department Campus, the City has an opportunity to plan for the reuse of what will be the old Public Works campus. The attached master plan concepts show a combined Central Park and former Public Works Campus. Staff have been working on creating concept plans for the area in hopes of making the space more attractive to residents because of the wide variety of recreation opportunities. This area is already home to the bandshell/amphitheater, Central Park shelter, playground, outdoor skating, splash pad, sun shelter, veteran’s memorials and walking trails. The concept plans show expanded parking areas, additional trails, a new playground space, phase 2 of the splash pad, reuse of a garage as a recreation facility and much more. Staff will discuss the three concept plans in detail with the Commission at the meeting on Monday. Included in the packet are three concept plans that staff would ask the Commission to review the concepts and provide feedback to staff.
