HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 05-22-23 APPROVEDROSEMOUNT PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING PROCEEDINGS MAY 22, 2023 CALL MEETING TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Rosemount Parks and Recreation Commission was held on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 7:01 PM. in Rosemount Council Chambers, 2875 145th Street West. Eliason called the meeting to order with Commissioners Bonkoski, Edminson, Eliason, Flury, McDonald and Young. Commissioners Angell, DeBettignies and Speich were absent. Guest - Mike McMenomy Staff present included the following; Parks and Recreation Director Dan Schultz and Recording Secretary Rambo ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO AGENDA None APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES a. Minutes of the April 24, 2023 Regular Meeting Motion by Bonkoski Second by Young Motion to Approve Minutes of the April 24, 2023 Regular Meeting Ayes: 5. Nays: None. Motion carried. AUDIENCE INPUT Guest Mike McMenomy offered to take City Staff, Commissioners' and Council Members on a tour of McMenomy Woods. DISCUSSION (Response to Audience Input): Director Schultz will send a memo out to all regarding the tour of McMenomy Woods. UNFINISHED BUSINESS None NEW BUSINESS a. Concept Plan Review for the Public Park – Talamore Development The Commission reviewed the concept plan, proposed cost estimates and provided feedback to city staff. b. Central Park and Public Works Campus Master Planning The Commission reviewed the three concept plans and provided feedback to staff. In June there will be a tour of the current Public Works facility, Central and Erickson Parks. c. Director’s Report Park Improvement Fund Balance as of April 30, 2023: $3,910,712.84 Inflows to the Park Improvement fund last month were as follows: Dedication fees - $36,465.00 Grants/Other - $0 Interest - $8,099.29 Donations - $0 Expenditures - $365,250.80 (McMenomy Woods purchase and various park designs) ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Parks and Recreation Commission and upon a motion by Bonkoski and a second by Young, the meeting was unanimously adjourned at 8:03 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Michelle Rambo Recording Secretary
