Commissioners planted (3) trees at Birch Park, Rosemount.
Call to Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Youth Commission was held on
Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 3:45 PM. at Birch Park.
Chairperson Favre called the meeting to order with Commissioners present: Amante, Carter,
Geller, Kebede, Knutson, Mason, Metzger, M. Raimondo, R. Raimondo, Sell, Decker, Jacobson,
John, Johnson, Nowlin, Skaria, & Ulstad.
Commissioners absent were: Harvey, Jacob, Born, Buehler, Marchese, Giray, Howie, & Sayapal.
Staff present included the following; Mayor Weisensel and Sarah Saunders

Members went around and introduced themselves by name, grade and years serving as a Youth
Commissioner (if applicable).
b. Review of By-Laws

Deputy Clerk Saunders gave a recap of the redlined items such as: unexcused absences, event
requirements, and addition to elected officer positions.

The elected officials for the 2025-2026 Youth Commission are as follows:

v. Vice Secretary (minutes) - Autumn Jacobson
d. Upcoming Events
Mayor Weisensel commented on the Open House on June 1, 2025 at the PW/PD Campus, and the event
at Central Park on June 12, 2025.
Commissioners took a photo of the important dates to add to their personal calendars.
e. Meeting Dates Calendar
Commissioners will add the monthly meeting schedule to their personal calendars.
f. Encouragement & Words of Wisdom from Current and Outgoing Members
Current and graduating Commissioners expressed to the new members the importance of speaking up,
sharing all your ideas (silly or not), getting involved in as many activities or opportunities as you can,
and slowing down to take it all in.
g. Roundtable Discussion
The (6) Seniors shared their college plans and majors with the group.
The younger Commissioners shared their end of school year and summer plans with the group.

The next Youth Commission meeting is Wednesday, June 25, 2025, 3:45 p.m.; Steeple Center.

There being no further business to come before the Youth Commission at the regular meeting and upon
a motion by Favre and a second by Metzger the meeting was adjourned at 4:48 p.m.
